Lord Rama lineage living King even today - Gaj Singh - Jodhpur - Umaid Bhawan Palace

Umaid Bhawan Palace (Hindi: उम्मैद भवन पैलेस), located in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, India, is one of the world's largest private residences. The Taj Hotel manages a part of the palace. It's named after Maharaja Umaid Singh, grandfather of the present owner, Gaj Singh.

The Rathores, who controlled most of the Marwar in Western Rajasthan, including Bikaner, another desert kingdom, were ruling Jodhpur's Kingdom. The clan's lineage goes back to Rama, the Hindu epic Ramayana's mythical hero, to the sun god Surya himself.
