Chip implanted in Human Brain - Elon Musk, Neuralink

Elon Musk, the founder of Neuralink, said that for the first time, a chip had been implanted in a human brain. The operation took place on Sunday and the patient was recovering well. Mentioned in a post on his X platform late Monday.

In May 2023, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration granted an approval for Neuralink's human studies. The company also announced last September that it would start enrolling patients with quadriplegia in its first clinical trial.

Usage of this Chip:

"Enables you to control your phone or computer, and almost any device that's capable of doing so, simply by thought or thinking." The first users will be those who have lost use of their arms and legs.

Think of how fast Stephen Hawking could talk compared to a speed typist and auctioneer. That's the objective," he said on his blog.

How it works:

Neuralink has previously explained how the company uses a robot to surgically implant an interface between braincomputers known as BCI in regions of the brain that control motion intentions. The BCI is a system that deciphers signals in the brain and translates them into commands for other technologies.
